ESG in Kuwait: What Do Companies Need to Know?

Hybrid Session

Monday October 26, 2026

Kuwait Green Building Council (KGBC) hosted an insightful session titled “ESG in Kuwait: What Do Companies Need to Know?” featuring Faten Al Naqeeb, Founder and Senior Managing Partner of Advocates & Al Naqeeb Law Firm.

Held at KGBC’s headquarters with the option to attend online, the session brought together professionals interested in understanding the evolving role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles within Kuwait’s business landscape. The discussion explored the growing importance of sustainability in corporate practices, with a particular focus on the legal and regulatory frameworks shaping ESG implementation in Kuwait.

As sustainability continues to gain momentum globally, businesses in Kuwait are increasingly faced with the challenge of aligning their operations with evolving ESG expectations.

Throughout the session, Faten Al Naqeeb provided valuable legal perspectives on the relationship between sustainability, corporate responsibility, and governance, highlighting the importance of understanding both local regulations and international ESG standards.

The conversation addressed key questions surrounding the requirements companies may face when adopting sustainable practices, the extent to which Kuwait’s regulatory landscape aligns with global frameworks, and the practical challenges businesses encounter when integrating ESG principles into their operations.

The session provided an opportunity to consider how organizations across different sectors can approach sustainability more strategically, while navigating regulatory expectations and identifying opportunities for improvement. By bringing a legal perspective into the sustainability conversation, the discussion emphasized that ESG extends beyond environmental performance to include transparency, accountability, and responsible corporate governance.

Advancing sustainability requires conversations that extend beyond the built environment. Through initiatives such as this session, the Council aims to encourage greater awareness, support informed decision-making, and promote the integration of sustainable practices across Kuwait’s various industries.

KGBC extends its sincere appreciation to Faten Al Naqeeb for sharing her expertise and valuable insights, and to all participants who joined us in exploring the future of ESG in Kuwait.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and creating further opportunities for learning, collaboration, and progress toward a more sustainable future.
